ABOUT
Emily Clanton is an interdisciplinary artist and creative consultant who works at the intersection of public art, community engagement, and health. She creates public art projects that often take site-specific and participatory forms — from utility wraps and murals to large-scale installations and collaborative activations.
Her work is guided by the belief that art can foster resilience, spark dialogue, and transform shared spaces into places of meaning and connection.
Since completing her graduate studies in Arts in Medicine (2023), Emily has focused her practice on projects that bridge personal expression with collective experience. Her art installations — including The Ties That Bind Asheville and Many Hands, Light Work at MUSC in Charleston — highlight how shared making and human-centered imagery can counter isolation and depersonalization in busy public spaces.
Emily's projects have been commissioned by municipalities, cultural organizations, and health institutions across the Southeast, including Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs, Spartanburg Art Museum, and the Medical University of South Carolina. Her work has been recognized through regional exhibitions, municipal initiatives, and community partnerships that affirm both artistic excellence and civic impact.
