Institutional Services

I work with institutions, consultants, and public-facing organizations that need to maintain community trust, gather qualitative insight, and make complex public processes more visible and human.

Participation shouldn't happen only after a plan is already formed. I design low-barrier engagement structures that help people contribute throughout a process — even without the time or bandwidth to follow a public process closely.

This work is more than decorative art curation or compliance-only outreach. I design participation structures that produce real qualitative community insight and a public-facing artifact — one that continues to support visibility, reflection, and trust well after the facilitated process ends.

Community Engagement Continuity

What this is

A system for maintaining the human thread between institutional project phases, especially when public-facing work slows down or becomes invisible. This often takes visual and participatory form — workshops, pop-ups, and low-barrier activities that leave behind a physical or visual record of participation, not just a meeting log.

Who it serves

For long-cycle projects, CHNA processes, recovery initiatives, comprehensive plans, and grant-funded programs where community contact cannot go quiet between formal engagement phases.

What it includes

  • Community liaison support

  • Participatory visual engagement

  • Progress markers and public-facing documentation

  • Low-barrier participation structures

  • Monthly continuity retainers

Qualitative Research & Reporting

What this is

Listening, narrative collection, and qualitative synthesis that supports CHNA, CHIP, grant, planning, and public health documentation. Grounded in formal CBPR training — a University of Florida graduate research study with 31 participants — and a broader pattern of narrative and documentation work across public art projects.

Who it serves

Health departments, health systems, CHNA/CHIP processes, planning firms, and grant programs that require evidence of community engagement and qualitative community insight.

What it includes

  • Listening sessions

  • Narrative interviews

  • Qualitative summary reports

  • Community experience documentation

  • CHNA / CHIP / grant-aligned reporting

Facilitation & Advisory

What this is

Support for teams designing engagement structures, building internal engagement capacity, or managing site-specific public-facing work. Support for strengthening the human-facing layer of a team's work — engagement design, visual and community-facing components, advisory input — not a replacement for the planning, research, compliance, or implementation expertise already in place.

Who it serves

Health systems, planning teams, public agencies, and consultants who need engagement design, structured facilitation, or subcontract support.

What it includes

  • Engagement design

  • Internal team advisory

  • Professional development

  • Remote consultation

  • Site-specific facilitation

  • Subcontract support

Participatory Visual Methods Note: Participatory visual methods may include visual documentation, visioning exercises, temporary participatory installations, community data collection through making, and public-facing progress markers.

I accept a limited number of direct commissions for permanent and temporary public art. Commission work is represented in the Portfolio and selected Case Studies. For commission inquiries, use the Contact form
