SUMMERTIME, ART IN NEIGHBORHOODS, BUS STOP WRAP – CHATTANOOGA, TN (2017)
Medium: Vinyl wrap art reproduction for wall on large bus stop
Location: Shepherd Neighborhood, Chattanooga, TN
Program: Art in Neighborhoods, City of Chattanooga
Year: Design selected 2017, installed 2019
Notes: Part of infrastructure project expanding access and beautifying public transport.
Chattanooga’s Art in Neighborhoods program works with residents to bring public art to areas outside of downtown. In 2017, Emily’s design was selected for a new Shepherd Neighborhood bus stop, built to serve the community while elevating its visual identity.
The design was fabricated and installed in 2019, transforming the shelter into a colorful landmark. By pairing infrastructure with art, the project demonstrated how civic investment can meet both practical needs and cultural aspirations.
IMPACT
Integrated art into the construction of a new transit stop, rather than just modifying existing infrastructure.
Provided Shepherd Neighborhood with a shelter that is both functional and symbolic of community pride.
Modeled how municipal projects can combine infrastructure investment with cultural enrichment.
