Homestead Public Services, the City's municipal electric utility, commissioned this work directly. They approached me after seeing my utility box wraps in Pompano Beach. The boxes belong to the utility, so the commission ran through operations rather than an arts office.

The City selected two works already installed in Pompano Beach: Sisters and Lily in Berea. I adapted each to the dimensions of Homestead's boxes, working from the City's own equipment documentation.

The wraps put artwork on working infrastructure along city corridors. I worked with the City's wrap fabricator on printing specifications and outdoor durability. A third design, Summertime, is awaiting installation.

IMPACT

• Infrastructure, Not a Destination: People meet the work during ordinary movement, not by visiting a site.

• Part of a city program: The wraps sit within Homestead's Art in Public Places Initiative, alongside murals and sculpture.

• Civic recognition: Mayor Steven D. Losner named the program in the 2025 State of the City address.

• Turnaround: Files shipped about six weeks after the first call, inside the City's schedule.
