Many Hands, Light Work – Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC (2025)
Many Hands, Light Work is a permanent tile mural on the exterior wall of the James W. Colbert Education Center and Library at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), commissioned by the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) and managed by the MUSC Arts in Healing program. The work honors the contributions of MUSC students past and present, across departments. Crafted from rammed earth tiles, fabricated in partnership with Earthbuilt, the mural uses a sustainable material chosen for its strength, durability, and resonance with the sandy soils of the Low Country. The imagery of hands celebrates the relationships of care that define the MUSC community.
